Educational Programming Leadership
Nick Maassen, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Maassen joined the department as faculty in 2020 and took over the role of Director of Medical Student Education (orthopaedic surgery) in January 2025.
Tessa Balach, MD, a professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in orthopaedic oncology and adult joint reconstruction. Dr. Balach, an alum of the Residency and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship programs, returned to the department as faculty in 2016 and has served as Residency Program Director since July 2018.
Clarabelle DeVries, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in pediatric orthopaedic surgery. Dr. DeVries joined the department as faculty in 2020 and took on the role of Associate Residency Program Director in May 2024.
Jennifer M. Wolf, MD, PhD, a professor of orthopaedic surgery, specializes in hand surgery. Dr. Wolf joined the department as faculty in 2016 and served as Program Director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship from August 2016 to September 2024. Dr. Wolf was appointed Department Chair in October 2024.
