Summary
Bone infections are a rare, but serious condition, and are often difficult to even diagnose. The orthopaedic and infectious disease specialists at the University of Chicago Medicine’s Bone Infection Program are setting a new standard of care for patients with osteomyelitis (infection in the bone). Diagnosis and treatment can be complex, and our program brings together experts to provide comprehensive care in a single setting. Here, a multidisciplinary team of physicians, scientists and care providers use the latest advances in osteomyelitis care for evaluation, assessment and treatment.
