Bone and Soft Tissue

As part of the NCI-designated University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center, this program provides both adult and pediatric care for bone cancer and soft tissue sarcoma, offering access to innovative chemotherapy and limb-sparing surgery.

Bone Health and Fragility

This novel program evaluates patients who have sustained fragility fractures and provides education and innovative treatment options to reduce risk of additional fracture. All fracture patients over 50 years of age may be referred to this program.

Bone Infection Care

Bone infections are a rare, but serious condition, and are often difficult to even diagnose. Here, a multidisciplinary team of physicians, scientists and care providers use the latest advances in osteomyelitis care for evaluation, assessment and treatment.

Foot and Ankle Care

This program provides specialized treatment options that include advanced arthroscopic surgery and reconstructive surgery, in addition to total ankle replacement for patients with traumatic or arthritic conditions.

Fracture Care

This program provides nonsurgical and surgical care for patients with complex fractures or non-unions. Innovative therapies are provided for non-unions caused by infection, inadequate biology, or insufficient stability.

Hand and Upper Extremities

Advanced treatment for conditions of the hand and wrist including complex reconstruction, tendon and nerve transfers, and limb salvage, provided by a team who developed surgical techniques that are now standard protocol across the country.

Hip Care

The full range of hip care, including arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, hip resurfacing and hip replacement, is provided by specialists leading innovative research focusing on regenerative medicine.

Knee Care

Comprehensive treatment for knee injuries and knee pain that includes arthroscopic care, ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, less invasive joint replacement and a rapid recovery program that quickly returns patients to an active lifestyle.

Pediatric Orthopaedic Care

Nonsurgical and surgical care for spinal disorders, hip diseases, neuro-muscular conditions, birth defects, trauma, growth plate disturbances, benign bone tumors and club feet.

Shoulder and Elbow Care

Muscle and tendon injury treatment, fracture care, shoulder repair and replacement, and complex reconstruction; services also include the Latarjet procedure for coracoid transfer and tendon transfers.

Spine Care

A wide range of nonsurgical, minimally invasive and traditional proven surgical techniques for the treatment of back and neck problems. Maximizing the use of nonsurgical interventions for reducing pain and restoring function.

Sports Medicine

This program specializes in complex surgeries, such as multi-ligament knee reconstructions, proximal hamstring repairs, total shoulder replacements and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip.

Trauma

The UChicago Medicine Trauma Program cares for trauma patients and their families in our community, the South Side of Chicago and beyond. Our care is compassionate and extends from prevention to recovery.
