University of Chicago Orthopaedic Surgery Department Appoints New Chair

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine is proud to announce that Dr. Jennifer Moriatis Wolf, MD, PhD, has been named as the new Chair!

Dr. Wolf is an orthopaedic hand surgeon who specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatment of bone, nerve tendon and ligament injuries that are caused by overuse and trauma. She has been with the University of Chicago since 2016 and has served as the Vice Chair of Faculty Development and Diversity as well as the DCAM OR Surgical Director. She is currently on the board of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and was the previous president of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. 

Dr. Wolf received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed her internship, residency and trauma fellowship at Brown University. She also completed a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Wolf has also completed a PhD in hand surgery, which she completed at the Lund University in Sweden. 

As Chair, Dr. Wolf will look to expand our clinical services in Chicago, the Illinois Suburbs and in Northwest Indiana.
